Manduria
At 9:00 AM, departure to Manduria, the undisputed capital of Primitivo wine. The city boasts a very ancient history.
Founded by the Messapians, it still preserves impressive megalithic walls and a fascinating archaeological park that tell the story of its pre-Roman origins. The historic centre, with its light stone alleys, inner courtyards and Baroque churches, offers an authentic atmosphere. Highlights include the Church of San Pietro Mandurino, the Jewish Ghetto and the Fonte Pliniano, an ancient natural cistern mentioned by Pliny the Elder.
Manduria
Manduria is, above all, a land of wine. Here, the Primitivo di Manduria DOC reaches its finest expression.
A full day dedicated to wine will take you to two outstanding wineries, each reflecting a unique terroir and winemaking style. Among ancient vineyards and intense aromas, you will discover the secrets of this iconic grape through guided tastings that reveal its many nuances. A light lunch at the winery and a relaxing moment will complete the experience before returning to Lecce.
